Sound of the Sirens are an acoustic singer-songwriting duo based in Exeter, Devon comprising of Abbe Martin & Hannah Wood. Honing their craft over the past decade, Martin & Wood have cemented themselves as firm favourites not only on the Westcountry scene, but nationally, and internationally too.
Their status, and fast-growing fan-base is not only testament to the pair’s prowess as songwriters and musicians, but as people too.
A Sound of the Sirens show will leave you in awe of Abbe & Hannah’s musical abilities and thoroughly uplifted by the fun they bring to their show, whether on the main stage of a major festival or a more intimate room.
Following on from his solo albums ‘A Polyphonic Life’ and ‘Refuge’ and ten years touring and recording with his duo; Tobias ben Jacob returns to preview some brand new songs from a forthcoming solo album as well as songs from his back catalogue with special guest accompanist Chris Cleverley.
Hailing from Preston, Lancashire but now based in Devon, Tobias’ music is steeped in classic guitar songwriting and folk traditions but makes more unexpected departures into what Tom Robinson called ‘innovative explorations in songwriting’
‘’Stand out new-folk, superb ‘ Chris Hawkins BBC6
‘’Significant songs that deserve to be heard ‘ KLOF Mag
Chris Cleverley has crafted a unique sound blending folk, ambient, and dream-like acoustic music. With five acclaimed albums and recognition from BBC6 and The Times, his performances mix serene guitar techniques and storytelling, taking listeners on a journey through human emotion and vivid landscapes.
Chris Cleverley was born under a solstice moon, in the honeysuckle mysticism of a late 80s Midsummer. As his fledgling days unfurled, the symbolic sounds of ‘Hunky Dory’, ‘Graceland’ and ‘Ladies of The Canyon’ echoed from the woodchip walls of the South Birmingham terrace where he was raised; quiet and curious, saturnine and shy. Here, the soul of a young artist was shaped.
Fast-forward three decades; With five nationally acclaimed records under his belt, and ringing endorsements from The Times, Telegraph and BBC6 Music, 2x FATEA ‘Male Artist of the Year’ Chris Cleverley is described as “One of the most vital voices of his Folk generation” (KLOF)
His boundary-shattering ‘Dream-Folk’ songwriting sits on the cutting edge of acoustic music.
A true guitar-man, his breathtaking fingerstyle technique dances above lush ambient soundscapes, drawing comparisons ranging from Lo-fi American Greats, Elliott Smith & Sufjan Stevens to UK guitar royalty John Martyn & Nic Jones; a curious tapestry weaved from the hazy psychedelia of the 60s folk revival and the soulful oblivion of the 90s Pacific Northwest.

Track Dogs are two Irishmen, an Englishman and an American, (Garrett Wall, Dave Mooney, Howard Brown & Robbie K.Jones), whose artistic name derives from the dark subterranean world of New York’s subway system. If they are still new to you, check out recent releases Fire on The Rails (2020) and Where to Now? (2022) and see why they are so hard to pigeonhole.
Formed in the Autumn of 2006 in Madrid around the eclectic line-up of acoustic guitar, electric bass, trumpet and cajón, over the following 18 years they have added banjo, ukulele and mandolin as well as honing their four part vocal harmonies, now very much an integral part of their “sound”.
Well-established in Spain where they are based, they are surprising music lovers everywhere with “Sun-shiny songs thriving on dark themes behind irresistible rhythms.
A recent collaboration with Show of Hands led to the release of a 23-track live album, “Dog Show Sessions”, in 2023.
With 7 albums under their belts, their versatile and accessible style allows Track Dogs to be at home in festivals as diverse as Glastonbury, Americana Music Madrid, Electric Picnic (Ireland’s premiere mega-festival), Grand Northern Ukulele Festival, Shrewsbury Folk Festival, Folk Alliance International, SXSW, Cork Jazz Festival or even Trafalgar Square’s Saint Patrick’s Day Super Stage.
